Division of Migratory Birds/Falconry 3-186A database - Privacy Act and Required Notices

 

Authority: Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA, 16 U.S.C. 703 et seq.) and the Lacey Act (16 U.S.C. 3371 et seq.).

Purpose: FWS will use this information to determine the eligibility of applicants in certain activities in accordance with the criteria in various Federal wildlife conservation laws.

Routine Uses: This information may be shared according to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Privacy Act of 1974, and the routine uses listed in System of Records Notice (SORN) INTERIOR/FWS-21, Permits System, 68 FR 52610 (September 4, 2003); modification published 88 FR 16277 (March 16, 2023) available at www.doi.gov/privacy/fws-notices

PAPERWORK REDUCTION ACT STATEMENT
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. 3501), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service collects information necessary to conduct usability testing of the application and functionality of the falconry database, and to respond to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act and the Privacy Act of 1974. Information requested in this form is purely voluntary. Failure to provide all requested information may be sufficient cause for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to deny the request to participate in the testing. According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, an agency may not conduct or sponsor and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. OMB has approved this collection of information and assigned Control Number 1018-0022, which expires 10/31/2023.

ESTIMATED BURDEN STATEMENT
We estimate public reporting for this collection of information to average 2.5 hours, including time for reviewing instructions, gathering and maintaining data and completing and reviewing the form.
